2005 - Upcoming Events

Matching learning objectives to assessment -a "hands-on" workshop
(Mackay Campus) .

This workshop is designed for university teachers to have a "hands-on" approach to designing learning objectives that match assessment tasks. Participants will work on their own or a mock course, to gain a working knowledge of the role and purpose of learning objectives - how they are framed and what they are expected to achieve.

Assessment will be explored in light of course objectives, and demonstrations of how assessment can link to these objectives will occur. Positive and negative examples of objectives and assessment linking will be used to highlight differences that cause students to misunderstand their learning outcomes.

This workshop forms the basis of an educational process with which the teacher can make improvements in their own practice.
